Ellesmere College is the support structure for disability sport and physical activity throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland across the themes of education, community and facilities, to develop increased sport, physical activity, leadership and volunteering opportunities for people with disabilities.

Charnwood is committed to delivering and providing sporting opportunities for disabled people across the Borough.

Our current activities include:

  • Wednesday 11am-12pm Multi-skill sport session at Loughbrough Leisure Centre (Open session)
  • Boccia Sessions at Glebe House, Wednesday 7-9pm (Closed Group)
  • Boccia at Syston Project at Syston Community Centre, Thursday 11am-12pm (Closed Group)
  • Boccia Club, Loughborough Leisure Centre, Tuesdays 11am-12pm (Open Session)
  • Exercise to music session, Loughbrough Leisure Centre, Glebe House, Monday 11am-12pm (Closed Group)
  • Tandem Cycling, Shepshed, Wednesday morning meeting (Prior arrangement, limited spaces)
  • Disability Running Club, details to be confirmed
  • Football Development Project, details to be confirmed
  • Youth provision at Mountfields Lodge, Thursday 13th November (Launch)- New age Kurling and Boccia

Charnwood have links with disability specific clubs:

  • Shepshed Dolphin swimming club
